Egyptian Astrology

Egyptian horoscope is one of the oldest calendars, based on the mythology of ancient Egypt gods and is built according to the birth date. Due to the fact that the ancient Egyptians carefully monitored its preservation and did not dare to change anything, it remained virtually untouched. Egyptian astrology has had a major impact on modern astrology and there are some clear similarities between the two. The Egyptians believed that the stars we were born under influenced our personalities, lives and our destinies.

Egyptian Astrology has 12 zodiac signs, each of which embodies its deity, but unlike other horoscopes, each sign refers to several time intervals spaced by the months of the year. Each sign is based on gods and goddesses. The god or goddess of your sign represents your character, behavior, strengths, weaknesses and skills.

Each sign covers 3 decans, or 30 days. This means that you can have the same Egyptian zodiac sign as a friend of yours, but both of you can fall in different decans. Since each decan is related to a different planet, the two of you are affected by different planets.

There are two different schools of Egyptian Astrology: one that assigns a traditional date based on the decans and one that assigns a date based on the influences of what the Ancients Egyptians learned from the Ancient Greeks about Babylonian astrology. The latter method of assigning a date is very similar to Western Astrology. You may have two different ancient Egyptian Zodiac Signs because of these two different schools and their influences.

Each Egyptian zodiac sign corresponds to an Western zodiac sign via the dates.
